Carroll ISD will kick off its show choir season with Show Choir Premiere Night on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Carroll Senior High School auditorium. The concert will feature performances from all middle and high school show choirs across the district and marks the first official show choir performance of the year.
Groups performing include Dragon Decibel, Green Sound Machine, The Carrollers and The SLC. Dragon Decibel and The Carrollers are both new groups this year, making Premiere Night their first opportunity to perform in front of an audience.
“The purpose of Premiere Night is to showcase all of our show choirs,” choir director Ms. Casey LeVie said. “It’s a way for us to show that choir is more than just standing and singing on risers.”
The event also marks the beginning of the competition season for Carroll show choirs. The SLC, Carroll’s mixed show choir for grades 10 through 12, will attend the 2026 Cowtown Classic Show Choir Invitational, its first competition of the year, on Saturday with additional competitions scheduled later in the season.
“Premiere Night really helps our performers get ready for Cowtown and all the other competitions,” LeVie said. “It’s the choirs’ first chance to perform the show for an audience, and it’s great for them to have a crowd hyping them up and setting the energy for the season.”
Tickets for Show Choir Premiere Night will be $5 at the door, and the concert is open to everyone. Organizers encourage anyone interested in music and performance to attend and support the district’s show choir programs.
“Audience members can expect to see a lot of variety,” LeVie said. “They’re going to get to hear a lot of songs, new and old, and see some shows that tell really cool stories. It’s just a really creative way for us to combine a lot of stuff from the arts. From singing and dancing to band and some theatrical elements, it’s gonna be a very fun show.”
