Boys & Girls Water Polo
The Lady Dragon water polo team finished the regular season with an overall record of 20-2 and qualified for the state tournament. They competed against Clute Brazoswood on Oct. 25 losing 14-8 and placing third in the state of Texas. This is the girls’ third consecutive trip to the state tournament.
Dragon water polo finished their regular season play with an overall record of 25-7 and advanced to the regional finals of UIL state playoffs. The boys finished their season as Regional Finalists after a 17-12 loss to Flower Mound Marcus.
Boys & Girls Cross Country
The Lady Dragon and Dragon cross country teams hosted the District 4-6A meet at Bob Jones Park on Oct. 10. Caden Leonard finished the varsity elite boys 5000 meters race in first place with a time of 14:33. Also coming in first place, Caleb Lo finished the junior varsity 5000 meters race with a time of 15:57.
The Lady Dragon varsity team had five girls finish in the top 20 of the district meet, with the best time being 17:41 by Abigail Perez. The junior varsity girls had four girls finish in the top five of their meet with Mia Lay getting first place with a time of 19:08 in the 5000 meters race
Both varsity teams traveled to Lubbock for the regional meet on Oct. 22.
Team Tennis
Varsity tennis continued their 2024 playoff run with prior wins over El Paso Coronado and Midland. They competed in the UIL regional tournament last week, defeating Plano West in the regional semi-finals. With a quick turnaround, they faced regional opponent Allen, falling short with a score of 10-9. The Dragon tennis team finished the year as UIL Regional Finalists with an overall record of 20-4.
Football
Dragon varsity football remains undefeated in district play with a record of 6-0. They defeated their new district opponent, Northwest, 48-7 on Oct. 17, securing their spot in the UIL playoffs. The Dragons have two district games remaining including LD Bell and Keller Central. The Dragons will take on L.D. Bell on Oct. 25 as they celebrate senior night.
Volleyball
Lady Dragon Volleyball continues its win streak with an overall record of 24-10 and a district record of 10-5. Last week on Oct. 15, they faced the Eaton Eagles and they won with a score of 3-0. They also played on Oct. 18 where they faced Northwest and won 3-1.
