After six weeks of a wild college football season, many unlikely players have become heroes on campus due to upsets or pure domination. There are hundreds of stars and raw talent prospects in college football at the moment, but there’s a select few who some are calling Heisman-level. As of Oct.10, here are our predictions for the Heisman trophy. We will weigh in again in early December before the finalists are officially announced on Dec. 4.
Cael Jacobson’s Picks:
Ashton Jeanty: RB, Boise State Broncos
Car: 95
YDS: 1,031
TDS: 16
AVG YPC: 10.9
Ashton Jeanty is the main reason why Boise State is ranked, as it is the number one team in the Mountain West. Jeanty is a strong candidate for the Heisman while being pulled in the second half for most of his games. Ashton Jeanty is a strong Heisman candidate because he is a well-rounded athlete and a workhorse production back.
Jalen Milroe: QB, Alabama Crimson Tide

Jalen Millroe is at the helm of one of the most confusing seasons for Alabama. A win over Georgia, it puts Millroe in a strong chance to win the Heisman. There is also another factor, Alabama’s loss to unranked Vanderbilt. This puts in my opinion a harder chance for him to come back and win the Heisman, but it is still possible.
Travis Hunter: WR/DB, University of Colorado Buffaloes
Offensive:
Rec: 46
YDS: 561
TDS: 6
Defensive:
TOT: 15
TFL: 1
FF: 1
INT: 2
Travis Hunter is a dual-threat player for the Colorado Buffaloes. His ability to play both ways helps put him in a strong chance to win the Heisman. He has been productive on offense with 6 TDs. He has also been productive on defense with seven interceptions. Travis has a strong case for the Heisman as long as he keeps producing the entire season.
Grayson King’s Picks:
Ashton Jeanty: RB, Boise State Broncos
Car: 95
YDS: 1,031
TDS: 16
AVG YPC: 10.9
Ashton Jeanty has pretty much put Boise State on the map as the team to beat in the MW conference, propelling them to a 4-1 record losing only to national championship contender Oregon. He is on pace to break Barry Sanders’ 2628 rushing record during his 1988 OSU season and is currently leading rushing touchdowns with 16 touchdowns. If Jeanty ends up breaking Sanders’s record, he will win the Heisman.
Jalen Milroe: QB, Alabama Crimson Tide

Jalen Milroe has been on fire this season with almost 1300 yards in five games. Being surrounded by top tier talent in the receiving core, with players such as Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard, allow him to create explosive plays. The ability to rely on other talented individuals will aid him in the Heisman Race compared to others like Ashton Jeanty. The loss to Vanderbilt really hurts his Heisman odds due to them being an unranked team while Bama was ranked first at the time.
Ryan Williams: WR, Alabama Crimson Tide

Ryan Williams is the 17-year-old star wide receiver for Alabama. His skills are worthy of a Heisman if he continues to produce. Williams had a breakout game against Geargia having six receptions for 177 yards and a highlight reel 75-yard touchdown to win the game for Bama. Having a QB who is also in the running hurts his chances greatly along with people having prejudice against him for his age.
Ben Randall’s Picks:
Ashton Jeanty: RB, Boise State Broncos
Car: 95
YDS: 1,031
TDS: 16
AVG YPC: 10.9
There’s great college running backs, and then there’s Ashton Jeanty. Jeanty is on a generational tear through college football right now, as he has clocked in over 1,000 yards in the first five games of the season, being only the third ever to do it. With the speed of David Johnson, craftiness of Barry Sanders, and raw power of Herschel Walker, Jeanty might be the closest thing to a superhero we’ll ever get in college football. With the rest of Boise State’s schedule being pretty tame, Jeanty could break Barry Sanders’ NCAA single season rushing record of 2,628 yards, and potentially be the first RB Heisman winner since Derrick Henry in 2015.
Cam Ward: QB, University of Miami Hurricanes
Comp: 113
Att: 161
Comp. %: 70.2
YDS: 1,782
TDS: 18
INT: 4
This may be a hot take: but I believe in Cam Ward and the Miami Hurricanes. People might make a strong case for Alabama QB Jalen Milroe taking this spot in the list, but how Ward led the Hurricanes’ fourth quarter rally against UC-Berkeley this past Saturday was nothing short of jaw-dropping. While Milroe may be better numbers wise, Ward is one of the most clutch players in the country, passing for 249 yards in the fourth quarter alone, and carving up the defense with his stellar IQ and facilitating skills. With Miami being 6-0 for the first time in seven years, Cam Ward could be the one to bring the Hurricanes back to the promised land.
Travis Hunter: WR/DB, University of Colorado Buffaloes

Travis Hunter might be the most reliable and talented player in college football currently. Having 546 yards and six receiving TDs on top of his 15 total tackles and 2 interceptions on defense is mind-blowing. Hunter is the sole reason that the Buffs are in BIG XII title contention, as he and QB Shedeur Sanders are one of the most potent duos in the country. However, he is prone to injury and has less help outside of Shedeur, hence the reason he comes in at the number three spot. With the rest of the Buffaloes schedule being pretty challenging, this will be the ultimate test for Hunter: Can he keep this hot streak going and potentially steal the Heisman from the unstoppable Ashton Jeanty and ice-cold Cam Ward?
Andrew Klepikow’s Picks:
Ashton Jeanty: Running Back, Boise State Broncos
CAR: 95
YDS: 1031
TDS: 16
AVG YPC: 10.9
Jeanty’s stats have been unbelievable, he is averaging almost 200 rushing yards a game, He has made Boise State a better team and he is doing great things for the NCAA. This week he had over 180 rushing yards in just one half of playing and he is set to do great things for Boise State’s offense. Jeanty easily deserves the Heisman without a doubt.

Travis Hunter deserves second for the Heisman because he excels in two positions: he has 546 yards receiving and seven interceptions on defense. Which proves how good of a player he is; He has also led Colorado to a 4-1 record which is amazing considering they were not very good last year. Travis Hunter deserves the number two spot for the Heisman award.

Jalen Milroe deserves third spot for the Heisman because he is elite but still is not as good as Jeanty and Hunter. I feel as if Travis Hunter and Ashton Jeanty are on a whole different level because they have outrageous stats and do very much for their teams. Do not get me wrong, Milroe is a great player and he has a passer rating of 201.2. I feel that Milroe can still improve.
