Swimming

The varsity girls swim and dive team won the TISCA invitational on Nov. 18 and 19 over Keller with a score of 645-427. They are currently undefeated so far in this season. The varsity boys placed second in the same tournament with a score of 604-593. They both look to host Coppell at home at the Elise Cermai Aquatics Center on Nov. 30.

“We lost by 11 points because someone left early on a relay, which caused us to disqualify ourselves,” Max Hatcher (12) said, “I think if we all pull together this season and think as one we will have big things coming up for us.”

On Nov. 24 the varsity football team took on the Highland Park Scots and defeated them 45-14 at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington, advancing to the regional finals of the UIL playoffs.  The Dragons will face district rivals in a rematch against Byron Nelson High School on Dec. 2.

“Highland Park was a good team, so it felt good beating them by a lot,” Brock Boyd (10) said, “I’m excited to play against Byron Nelson again this week and redeem ourselves. I think we have a lot more to play for because we lost our district title against them. I don’t think anyone wants them to take another win from us again, which ensures extra effort from the whole team.”
