In the heart of the community, a dedicated group of individuals is working tirelessly to create lasting change. From lively cultural celebrations to social advocacy, one organization is making a real difference and shaping a brighter future for all.
Southlake Foundation is an organization made up of students coming together to contribute to and advocate for different causes. The club meets once a week after school on varying days of the week, but most usually on Thursdays.
“I am a club coordinator for the Southlake Foundation, which is essentially being responsible for the Southlake Foundation club at the school,” junior Bhargav Sai Reddy said. “I chose to be in the Southlake Foundation to help with the community for events and general volunteering,”
The organization has not only helped their causes but also Reddy himself.
“Southlake Foundation has helped me develop good habits and build relationships in the community,” Reddy said.
The club has worked hard to plan and organize events for many causes, working towards making a positive impact.
“Most of the events that I’ve volunteered at have been a blast to experience,” Reddy said.
Organizing these initiatives is essential for the organization’s ultimate goal of local improvement.
“Southlake Foundation hosts a lot of events for the community,” sophomore Suhavi Bakshi said. “The people who run Southlake Foundation are also super accepting, and they give you a lot of opportunities.”
Bakshi makes sure to spread awareness of these events and opportunities.
“My role in the club is Social Manager,” Bakshi said. “I help promote events. My partner, Sohum Kanabar, helps me format posts and helps me with promotion as well. We want this club to be known.”
Awareness of Southlake Foundation means awareness of the events they host and, ultimately, a closer-knit community.
“We just hope to bring the community together and host events to do so,” Bakshi said.
Many events hosted by Southlake Foundation emphasize the appreciation of different cultures.
“I am the Vice President of cultural events, and I am also the founder and president of the Southlake Foundation club in CISD,” junior Aarav Agarwal said. “For my cultural role, I help to plan events such as the Diwali fest and color run each year.”
Functions like these let everyone come together, take action, and influence their community.
“Southlake Foundation has provided me with opportunities in which I can make an impact and feel like an integral part of the city,” Agarwal said. “Through the foundation, I am able to build a repertoire of philanthropy.”
The efforts of Southlake Foundation have made a lasting impact on the community and club members alike.
“I would most definitely encourage students to join the Southlake Foundation,” Agarwal said. “There are a multitude of opportunities to gain exposure to our wonderful community, and members are able to form relations that will last a lifetime.”
