The first-ever Senior Talent Show is set to take stage on Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. in the CSHS auditorium. Featuring a variety of acts, from karate performances to musical demonstrations, the talent show will not only be a night of entertainment but also a competition, with $250 awarded to the winner.
The idea for the event came from the Senior Class Council as a way to celebrate the talents of the senior class. Senior Class Council treasurer, Charlie Savage, believes the prize adds an exciting layer to the event.
“We wanted to do something that would keep everyone, not just seniors, entertained,” Savage said. “The cash prize was added to encourage participation and make the event more interesting. But, the show is about more than just competition, it’s about coming together to celebrate everyone’s unique talents.”
The lineup will feature around 15 acts. Performers have been working for weeks to perfect their acts. Senior Anishka Chokshi will be performing a song in hopes of taking home the prize.
“I’ve been singing my whole life and to share that with the school is a great feeling,” Chokshi said. “While the prize is a great motivation, I wanted to do the talent show because it’s a chance to showcase something I’ve been working on for a long time.”
The audience will consist of students, teachers and families, with many students planning to cheer on their classmates and friends. Senior Sanvi Kishinchandani believes the talent show will encourage school spirit and bond the senior class together.
“The talent show is definitely a way to see all the talent the senior class has,” Kishinchandani said. “It’s amazing seeing how we can all come together to support one another. It’s also a way to leave a mark on the school before we graduate. It is the first-ever talent show in school history and that’s something cool to be involved in.”
Tickets for the event are $5 for students and $10 for adults and can be purchased through the senior class Instagram page. Proceeds from ticket sales will be invested towards funding other senior-related activities.
The Senior Talent Show will mark the first time the event has taken place at the school. With a range of talents on display and a prize at stake, the talent show is expected to be a significant event for the Class of 2025.
“The talent show will showcase what makes this year’s senior class different from previous years,” Savage said. “So, don’t miss the chance to support the performers and enjoy the talents of the senior class.”
