Q: What is your go-to restaurant in the area, and your order?
A: Taco Shop – Brady Ord, junior/surfing devotee
“The Taco Shop by 7-11 off of Highway 114. I get three carne asada tacos with horchata and hot sauce. I like how authentic it is and the whole atmosphere of the restaurant, and it’s the perfect meal post-boating on the lake.”
A: Gloria’s – Wendy Athey, GT English II teacher
“My family loves Gloria’s. Their tortilla soup is one of my favorites to order and my husband always gets the chicken fajitas. The black bean dip that comes with the chips and salsa is amazing too. The atmosphere at Gloria’s suits [my husband and I] perfectly.”
A: Sushi Sam – Casey Combs, baseball coach/Entrepreneurship teacher
“When my family first moved to Southlake, Sushi Sam was the first restaurant we went to. I remember being really nervous in a new town, but weirdly enough, sushi was my comfort food.”
A: Perry’s – Karina Metcalf, Anatomy/Physiology teacher
“I love Perry’s. My husband gets the pork chop which is huge, and I get the surf and turf. It is pretty quiet so conversation is easy, has good gluten-free options, and the food and service are always great. ”
A: Peace Love and Little Donuts – Avery Lee, sophomore/donut enthusiast
“I love Peace Love and Little Donuts because of their smaller portions that allow you to try more of their unique flavors. I get the birthday cake one because it is the perfect balance of sweet and salty.”
A: Duff’s Chicken – Paul Lee, AP World History Teacher/Girls Soccer Coach
“I love Duffs. I get the bone in wings with mild sauce. I discovered it when they catered one of our tournament games a few years ago, and I’ve been going ever since. I have always gotten excellent service.”
