Car tunes
What's your 'it' song?
September 26, 2016
By senior year, most Carroll students have their licenses, and with that comes not only the ability to drive but also the ability to find a driving song. You know, that one piece you can’t help but jam out to as soon as it comes on without caring who sees. The song that’s been responsible for spiller drinks, awkward eye contact and embarrassed family members. The song that’s responsible for helping you relax and live in the moment.
Michael Olson (12) – “Change” by Flume
“It makes me feel like I’m driving on the California coast in a Jeep, or at raves that I never actually attend and I just put the volume up really loud for attention but nobody looks anyway.”
Mana Singri (12) – “Morning in America” by Jon Bellion
“I’m really pumped when it comes on and I always sing along and depending on my mood, I usually don’t care if someone sees.”
Audrey Gow (12) – “Closer” by Halsey and the Chainsmokers
“I like to turn it up really loud, jam, and sing along. My brother hates it, but I do it anyway.”
Ivy Hall (12) – “Hold Up” by Beyoncé
“I consider this to be the best song ever and I don’t care if anyone sees me dancing.”
Hannah Hamel (12) – “Est-ce que tu m’aimes?” by Maître Gims
“My immediate reaction is to start singing along even if I can’t pronounce everything correctly. I don’t care if anyone is with me when it comes on. I’ll rock out just as hard.”
