Health Occupation Students of America, also known as HOSA, hosted their first meeting in the SAC on Wednesday afternoon, where club leaders informed new students about the club and what they provide. HOSA is a club that provides an opportunity to high school students interested in pursuing a career in the medical field through education, collaboration, and experience.
Senior and co-president Nauman Mustafa felt like HOSA gave him an opportunity to meet people with similar goals and interests.
“HOSA helped me with making friends and having a good social life,” Mustafa said.
HOSA also has over 66 events which are usually held in November. Each of these competitions helps you master a certain skill which would usually be used in the medical professions.
“I’m excited because I’m really interested in understanding the basics and diving into a major I’m interested in,” freshman Suhani Patel said.
Senior and co-president Farya Aryan said how HOSA helped her with her academics and with her work ethic.
“I feel like it just adds something to my resume since it is a international program,” Aryan said. “[HOSA] is an amazing community.”
