Student Council works to make a wish for local girl

On Friday, CSHS hosted the annual spring pep rally and raised more than $1000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Student Council is collaborating with Make-A-Wish to help raise funds for Nyla, an 8-year-old girl who is battling leukemia. Nyla loves animals and her wish is to attend Blue Hills Ranch this summer. Funds raised by CSHS will  help grant that wish and future wishes to kids in north Texas. Donations can be made directly to the CSHS Make-A-Wish Donation Page or by participating in a spirit night fundraiser during Wish Week March 27-31. Spirit nights are set for Feed Store on March 27, Chiloso on March 28, Duffs on March 29, Crisp & Green on March 30 and Kincaid’s on March 31.

“My favorite part of this journey has been to see how many people and businesses have come together as a strong family community to support an 8-year-old girl for Make-A-Wish,” junior Sam Jeppson said. “It’s a powerful testament to charity and how we can all do our part to help someone because by doing that we help someone because by doing that we help ourselves become better people and a light to others to follow the example to pay it forward.”

During the pep rally there were performances by local band Red Wall, Indoor Percussion, Emerald Belles, cheer and more.
