Athletes prepare for excellence with pregame rituals

September 26, 2016

Preparing for a game is almost as important as the game itself. Whether we’re talking about meets, football games, or soccer matches, Dragons prepare themselves in a variety of ways. Here’s how some of our athletes prepare for upcoming events:

“I always like to prepare mentally before any game we play. I also spend lots of time getting my gear ready so I’m not late.”

– Travis Almand (11)

“I always try to hype myself up by playing Super Smash Bros with my friends even though I know I’ll lose.”

– Drake Miller (11)

“Right before the race I always like to pop my finger I don’t know why but it always helps me get ready to beat everyone.”

– Kenzy Perlingiero (11)

“If I run well, I get two chocolate covered donuts. It’s safe to say I always get those donuts.”

– Caitlin Mertz (11)

“I prepare for our cross Country meets by eating lots of pasta on Thursdays.”

– George Carson (12)

“I always make sure I have my lucky hair rubberbands ready to go in the morning. I use them to make sure my hair stays in its braid when I’m running.”

– Callie Colvin (12)
